Immanuel Kim's research proposal,"Specters of Socialist Realism: Women writers in North Korea, 1960-1980," will be examining North Korean women writers in these three decades to see the multiple voices that contest the official government policy of Socialist Realism.
Immanuel will be in Korea for 9 months, from March to December.
