Part-Time Lecturer in Chinese

The Department of Comparative Literature and Foreign Languages at the University of California, Riverside, is recruiting for a lecturer position in Chinese during Winter and Spring Quarters 2016, pending final budgetary and enrollment approvals.

Duties will consist of the instruction of three (3) sections total. One section of Chinese-1 during Winter Quarter, and one section each of Chinese-2 and Chinese-3 during the Spring Quarter.

A completed Masters degree in Chinese or a related discipline is required. Priority will be given to candidates with substantial experience in teaching Chinese at the university level.

Present Lecturer salary per course is $6,126.50. Winter quarter instruction begins Monday January 4, 2016 and Spring Quarter instruction ends June 10, 2016.

Part-Time Visiting Professor in Japanese and Comparative Literature

September 2015--We are recruiting for a part-time visiting professorship in Japanese and Comparative Literature for Winter 2016. Visiting Assistant Professors participate in teaching research and Service. Duties will consist of the instruction of three courses total, supervising studies with students, and service associated with membership in departmental program committees during Winter and Spring Quarters 2016, beginning January 4, 2016 and ending June 30, 2016. The successful candidate will teach Japanese literature and culture courses and Comparative Literature courses, including: in Winter an advanced undergraduate media and culture course taught in English (CPLT/JPN/MCS/AST 180 "Japanese Documentary"), and a graduate seminar (CPLT 210 "Canons in Comparative Literature"); in Spring one advanced undergraduate literature and culture course taught in English (a section of CPLT 180E-Z "Literature and Related Fields" [section TBA]. Lecturer in Linguistics

November 2015--The Department of Comparative Literature and Foreign Languages at the University of California, Riverside, is recruiting a lecturer position in Linguistics for Winter Quarter 2016. 

Duties will consist of the instruction of two (2) courses during Winter Quarter 2016, pending enrollment and funding. The successful candidate will teach Linguistics 131 (Morphology) and Linguistics 151 (Semantics). 

Excellence in linguistics teaching is required, and priority will be given to candidates with substantial experience in teaching Linguistics at the university level. A completed Masters degree in Linguistics or a related discipline is required. 

Present Lecturer salary per course is $6,126.50. Appointment is eligible for renewal each year depending on need, funding, and performance. Winter quarter instruction begins Monday January 4, 2016; instruction ends March 11, 2016; final exams end March 18, 2016.
